Isak Szapiro

     Isak Szapiro was born circa 1896 at Cylyon, Tarnopol, Galicia. He was born in April 1896 at Mikulince, Tarnopol, Galicia; as Abraham Isak, son of Roza Enie FEIGENBAUM of Tarnopol and Jozef SCHAPIRE of Smolanka. He was the son of Josef Szapiro and Rosa Hene Feigenbaum. He married Jetta Altshuler, daughter of Moshe Altshuler, circa 1920. He died on 2 June 1985 at age 89; buried in Baron Hirsch Cemetery, Staten Island, as Adolf SCHAPIRO, 27 Apr 1896-2 Jun 1985; First Rymalower Young Men's Benevolent Association; headstone Avraham b Yosef HaLevi; devoted husband, father-grandfather, great-grandfather/brother of Benjamin, Morris and Sam SHAPIRO.
     Isak Szapiro was also known as Adolph Shapiro. He appeared on the census of 3 April 1930 at 942 Avenue St. John, Bronx, New York, as Adolph SHAPIRO, 32; painter, new building; married 10 years; immigrated 1920, naturalized. He appeared on the census of 18 April 1940 at 1937 Davidson Avenue, Bronx, New York, as Abraham SHAPIRO, 43, painting contractor.
