     Max Gershbovitz was born on 27 March 1875 at Zareby Koscielne, Ostrow, Lomza; as Matys GRZYBOWICZ; aged 28 at marriage in 1903. He was the son of Chaim Icek Grzybowicz. He was born on 15 March 1882. He married Szejna-Rejzla Sokolowski, daughter of Litman Sokolowski, in 1903 at Belostok, Bialystok, Grodno; as Matys Chaimowicz GRZYBOWICZ, 28, and Szejna-Rejzla Litmanowna SOKOLOWSKA, 20. He died on 10 March 1964 at New York, New York, at age 88.
     He emigrated on 29 June 1904 from Hamburg, Germany, as Mates GRISIBOWITZ, born c. 1878; merchant; last residence Bialystok, en route to London aboard Olivia. He immigrated on 11 March 1907 to Ellis Island, New York, as Max GASBOWITZ, 25; aboard New York from Southampton; tailor's presser; born Bialystok; en route to brother-in-law Lazarus COHEN, 745 [?] E. 6th Street, NYC; manifest is torn but book index has him on sheet 9, line 25. Arrival manifest for Beckie KAHAN on 8 Sep 1906 has her going to Lazarus COHEN at same address, c/o SUKOLSKY.
