Rabbi Gershon Ostrovski married Kreyne Barkan Ostrovski, daughter of Binyamin Ha-Kohen Barkan. He was born in 1823 at Slutsk, Slutsk, Minsk. He was the son of Rabbi Yehuda Leyb Ostrovski and Hinda Garkavy. He died in 1898.
