Gussia Harkavy

     Gussia Harkavy was born circa 1889 at Russia. She was the daughter of Samuel Harkavy and Ida Slutzky. She married Nathan Wexler, son of Jacob Wexler and Rebeka Talachinsky, on 12 December 1908 at 135 E. 114th Street, New York, New York; as Nathan WEXLER, 25, cap maker, 376 E. 8th Street; father Jacob WEXLER, mother Ribaka TALACHINSKY; and Gussia HARKAVY, 89 Avenue B; father Samuel HARKAVY, mother Ida SLUTZKY; officiated by Rev. I.L. Margolies, Novaritker Bros. Assoc; witnesses P. KESSLER and D. GRODENSKY; NY marriage certificate 10. She died on 7 March 1979; as Gussie WEXLER, buried in New Montefiore Cemetery, West Babylon, New York.
     She immigrated on 6 February 1906 to Ellis Island, New York, as Gusche GARKAWI, 18, seamstress; aboard Blucher from Hamburg; last residence Mir; en route to cousin Samuel EPSTEIN, 337 Osborn Street, Brooklyn; released to cousin Gershon KRAWETZ, 237 Osborn, Brooklyn; traveling with Kalmen TAUBES and Rochel KRAWETZ from Mir, en route to same party. She appeared on the census of 30 April 1910 at 212 Avenue B, New York, New York, as Gussie WEXLER, 22; immigrated 1905, alien. She appeared on the census of 1 June 1915 at 618 140th Street, Bronx, New York, as Augustia WEXLER, 28; 10 years in US, alien. She appeared on the census of 1 June 1925 at 78 Boerum Avenue, Queens, New York, as Gussie WEXLER, 39. She appeared on the census of 23 April 1930 at 78 150th Street, Queens, New York, as Gussie WEXLER, 42. She appeared on the census of 2 April 1940 at 10 Caton Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, as Gussie WEXLER, 51.
