Isadore Brooks

     Isadore Brooks was born on 15 December 1888 at Brok, Ostrow, Lomza; per 1915 Petition. He was the son of Calka Burakes. He married Sarah Gershbovitz, daughter of Abram Icek Grzybowicz and Chaja-Szyfra Piekarz, on 9 August 1912 at Toledo, Ohio. He died on 24 May 1945 at Toledo, Ohio, at age 56.
     He immigrated on 15 December 1909 to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as Itzok BORAKES, 20, hatter; aboard Haverford from Liverpool; last residence Brook, Russia; closest kin Zalel BORAKES, Brook; en route to brother Hersch BORAKES, 821 Oneida Street, Toledo, Ohio; brother here 4 years; birthplace Brook. On 21 September 1912 while living at 604 Spring Street, Toledo, Ohio, Isadore Brooks filed Declaration of Intention with Lucas County Court of Common Pleas. On 10 September 1915 while living at 537 Scott, Toledo, Ohio, Isadore Brooks filed Petition for Naturalization at Lucas County Court of Common Pleas, as Isadore BROOKS, tailor; wife Sarah GERSHBOWITZ and daughter Adeline; witnesses Joseph ABRAMOFSKY, tailor, 533 Beacon Street; and Isadore SHARFMAN, presser, 1301 Yates Street.
