     David Leventhal was born on 15 August 1888 at Ostroleka, Ostroleka, Lomza; per 1925 Petition. He was the son of Isaac Benjamin Lewton and Etta Sarah Leften. He married Annie Smitz on 30 June 1910 at New York, New York; as David LEVENTHAL, 21; son of Bane LEVENTHAL and Etta DEMOND; and Annie SMITZ, 20; daughter of Louis SMITZ and Lesohe HAILCOWITZ [sic]. He died on 20 September 1953 at Brooklyn, New York, at age 65; buried in New Montefiore Cemetery.
     David Leventhal was also known as David Lewtan. He immigrated on 18 November 1902 to Ellis Island, New York, aboard S.S. Vaderland, from Antwerp; en route to father Issac LEWTAN, 26 Canal Street, New York. He appeared on the census of 1 June 1905 at 148-50 Division Street, New York, New York, as David LEVENTHALL, 17; tailor; in U.S. 3 years, alien. He appeared on the census of 15 April 1910 at 63 Livonia Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, as David LEVENTHAL, 22; operator, cloaks; immigrated 1903, naturalized. On 20 September 1921 while living at 582 Cleveland Street, Brooklyn, New York, David Leventhal filed Declaration of Intention with Kings County Supreme Court as David LEVENTHAL; born 15 Aug 1888 in Lomza; arrived US 5 Aug 1903. On 22 October 1925 while living at 593 E. 98th Street, Brooklyn, New York, David Leventhal filed Petition for Naturalization with EDNY as David LEVENTHAL, tailor; born 15 Aug 1888; immigrated to US 5 Aug 1903; wife Anna born in Minsk 21 Oct 1888; witnesses William Harold LIVINGSTON, physician, 980 Prospect Avenue, Bronx; and Anna LEVENTHAL, housewife, 869 E. 156th Street, Bronx. He was naturalized on 26 January 1926; swore Oath of Allegiance; certificate 2311528.
