Isaac Nachimowicz

     Isaac Nachimowicz married Pesse Antimony, daughter of Yosef Antimony and Hannah Winner. He was born in February 1874 at Russia; per 1900 Census. He was the son of Gertz Nachimowicz and Eve Nachimowicz. He died on 5 July 1936 at Jesup, Georgia, at age 62; died as Isaac NATHAN, age 64; informant H.Y. NATHAN; buried Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia; headstone Yitzhok Isaak son of Naftali Hertz HaCohen NEITIN.
     He appeared on the census of 15 March 1874 at Gorodishche, Novogrudok, Minsk, as Aisik NOKHIMOVICH, age 5. He emigrated on 5 May 1897 from Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany, as Eisig NACHIMOWICZ, age 27; bookbinder; from Minsk; aboard Taormina to New York. He immigrated on 22 May 1898 to Ellis Island, New York, as Eisig NACHIMOWITZ, age 27; aboard Taormina from Hamburg; bookbinder; from Minsk; en route to New York. He appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 at 541 Zubley Street, Savannah, Georgia, as NACHIMOVITZ, indexed as WACHIMOVITZ; occupation peddler. He was naturalized on 23 September 1908 at Savannah, Georgia; naturalized by City Court of Savannah as Isaac NACHIMOVITZ; witnesses J. HALPERIN and Jos. HIRSCHOVITZ. As of 20 April 1910, Isaac Nachimowicz was also known as Isaac Nathan. He appeared on the census of 20 April 1910 at 63 Cherry Street, Jesup, Georgia, as Isaac NATHAN; occupation merchant, dry-goods. He appeared on the census of 12 January 1920 at Jesup, Georgia, as I. NATHAN; indexed as J. NATHAN; occupation merchant. He appeared on the census of 2 April 1930 at 303 Cherry Street, Jesup, Georgia, indexed as Isaak NATHER; occupation owner, dry goods.
