Rochla-Elka Surawicz

     Rochla-Elka Surawicz was born in 1884 at Wysokie Mazowieckie, Mazowieckie, Lomza; as Rochla-Elka SURAWICZ, daughter of Icko-Fiszel SURAWICZ and Brajna JASKOLKA; birth registered in 1887. She was the daughter of Icko-Fiszel Surawicz and Brajndla Jaskolka. She was born on 10 August 1887; per Petition for Naturalization of husband Ike. She married Alter Wengrowitz, son of Schepsal Wengrowicz and Dwora Monka, in 1906 at Wysokie Mazowieckie, Mazowieckie, Lomza; per JRI-P.
     She immigrated on 27 November 1908 to Ellis Island, New York, as Rochel Elke WENGROWITZ; 22; aboard Zeeland from Antwerp; last residence Wisoky; closest kin mother Brendel WENGROWITZ in Wisoky; en route to husband Alter WENGROWITZ, 83-1/2 Division Street, NY; detained and released to husband Alter at 94 Ludlow. She appeared on the census of 5 April 1930 at 1789 Pitkin Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, as Rose WEINGROWITZ. She appeared on the census of 2 April 1940 at 4035 Saratoga Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, as Rose WEINGROWITZ.
