He was the son of Iovno Aron Leibov Proschansky and Chana Rubinowitz. He married Rose Gellman Proschansky, daughter of Samuel Gellman and Klara Landau, on 4 May 1912 at New York, New York; as Izrael PROSCHANSKY and Rose HELLMAN; his father Aaron PROSCHANSKY and mother Chana RUBINOWITZ; her father Samuel HELLMAN and Klara LANDA; his address 378 E. 8th Street; her address 202 E. 7th Street (home of Meyer GELMAN); officiated by Rabbi Jacob ESKOLSKY at 210 Madison Street; witnesses David GRODENSKY and Harris PROSCHAN; NY marriage certificate 10621.
