     He immigrated on 29 August 1899 to Ellis Island, New York, as Israel DAWIDOWICZ, 18, aboard Konigin Luise from Bremen; last residence Im Sadweje [?]; en route to sister in New York. He appeared on the census of 7 June 1900 at 145 Madison Street, New York, New York, as Isreal DAVIS, upholsterer; born Apr 1882; arrived 1899; living with sister Becky DAVIS (born 1876, arrived 1895) as boarders in home of Max BASSIM and Bessie BASSIM. On 5 October 1910 while living at 274 S. 2nd Street, Brooklyn, New York, Israel Davis filed Declaration of Intention in Kings County Supreme Court as Israel DAVIS, upholsterer; born 10 Oct 1880, Minsk. On 3 October 1912 while living at 232 South Boulevard, Brooklyn, New York, Israel Davis filed Petition for Naturalization with SDNY as Israel DAVIS; upholsterer; born 10 Oct 1880; wife Sarah and children Abraham and Rose; wtinesses Lewis Paul ZERKOVER, cutter, 1339 Prospect Avenue, and Aaron HARKAVY, insurance, 960 E. 173rd Street.
