     Jacob Shereshevsky was born on 6 December 1891 at Gorodishche, Novogrudok, Minsk; date, place per 1915 Declaration of Intention and 1919 Petition for Naturalization. He was the son of Hershel Tzvi Szereszewski and Pearl Shear. He was born on 19 November 1892; date per 1923 headstone. He died on 19 August 1923 at Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, at age 31; buried in Hot Springs Cemetery.
     He immigrated on 16 January 1910 to Ellis Island, New York, as Jankel ASTRINSKY, age 21; carpenter; last residence Gorodist; closest kin Pesche ASTRINSKY, Gorodist; en route to NY to sister Taube ASTRINSKY, 162 E. Broadway; detained then released to his sister Tillie, 144 E. Broadway. He appeared on the census of 27 April 1910 at 601 W. Bay Street, Savannah, Georgia, as Jacob SHERESHEVSKY; age 19; brother-in-law to Louis M. NATHAN; salesman, beer saloon; immigrated 1910. He on 5 January 1915 at Swainsboro, Georgia, filed Declaration of Intention as Joseph SHEAR; born 6 Dec 1891 in Harediech, Russia; immigrated to New York aboard SS Potsdam, from Rotterdam; 14 January 1910. He began military service on 15 July 1917 at Fort McPherson, Georgia, as Joseph SHEAR, aged 24 years 7 months; Private, Company F, 56th Infantry. He ended military service on 2 October 1917 at Chickamauga Park, Georgia; Honorably discharged with Service Connected Disability; 50% disabled.
