Ruchla Chanowicz

     Ruchla Chanowicz was born in 1851 at Guty, Mazowieckie, Lomza. She was the daughter of Herszk Chanowicz and Szejna Moszkowna unknown. She married Fajbus Kosower, son of Gerszk Kosewer and Basia Pasternak, in 1871 at Andrzejewo, Ostrow, Lomza; as Fajbus KOSOWER, son of Gersz KOSOWER and Basya PASTERNESK; and Ruchla CHANOWICZ, daughter of Gersz Szymkowicz CHANOWICZ and his widow Szejna Moszkowna.
     She emigrated on 8 January 1907 from Hamburg, Germany, as Rochel KOSEWER, 50, aboard Kaiserin Auguste Victoria to New York. She immigrated on 19 January 1907 to Ellis Island, New York, as Rochel KOSEWER, 50; aboard Kaiserin Auguste Victoria from Hamburg; last residence Jedrew; en route to husband Feiwel K., 229 E. 101st Street. She appeared on the census of 1 June 1915 at 241 E. 110th Street, New York, New York, as Rose GROOSEMAN, 56, housework; in US 9 years. She appeared on the census of 9 January 1920 at 245-9 E. 110th Street, New York, New York, as Ray GROSSMAN, 70; immigrated 1907, alien.
