     Ethel Gurwicz was born on 5 January 1906. She was the daughter of Moses Gurwicz and Risha Bayla Harkavy. She married Louis Harkavy, son of Girsh Garkavy and Mariska Garkavy, on 5 May 1931 at Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; groom Louis HARKAVY, 31, salesman, of Brooklyn, NY; son of Hirsch HARKAVY and Mary COPLAN; bride Ethel GURWICZ, 25, of Ottawa; daughter of Moses GURWICZ and Risha Bayla HARKAVY. She died on 29 August 1974 at New York, New York, at age 68; buried in Saddle Brook Cemetery, New Jersey.
     She on 13 August 1937 at 1697 St. Johns Place, Brooklyn, New York, filed Petition for Naturalization with EDNY as Ethel HARKAVY, housewife; married to Louis on 5 May 1931 in Ottawa; on son, Simon; husband Louis naturalized 20 Jun 1918 at Newport News, Virginia; witnesses Louis HARKAVY, taxi driver, 1697 St. Johns Place, Brooklyn, and Minnie KAPLAN, housewife, 1624 St. Johns Place, Brooklyn. She was naturalized on 23 November 1937; swore Oath of Allegiance; certificate 4233481. She appeared on the census of 3 April 1940 at 171 Scholes Street, Brooklyn, New York, as Ethel HARKAVY, 34.
