Morris Manashaw

     Morris Manashaw was born circa March 1883 at Koidanovo, Minsk, Minsk; date per 1900 Census; place per 1894 Hamburg departure. He was the son of Abraham Manashaw and Fannie Manashaw. He married Jennie Harkavy, daughter of Mendel Harkavy and Tulie Joselowitz, on 3 September 1907 at New York, New York; as Morris MANASHAW, 24; storekeeper, 126 E. Broadway; father Abram, mother Fannie MANACEWITZ; and Jennie HARKAVY, 23, 120 Monroe Street; father Mandel, mother Tulie JOSELOWITZ; officiated by Rabbi Mendel SAMPSON; witnesses David KIRSHSTE and H. DOBKIN; NY marriage certificate 22776.
     Morris Manashaw was also known as Moses Manashaw. He immigrated on 23 April 1894 to Ellis Island, New York, as Moses MANASEWITZ, age 9; aboard Rhaetia from Hamburg. He appeared on the census of 19 April 1910 at 279 Stone Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, as Morris MANSHAW, age 24; operator, shirts. He appeared on the census of 19 January 1920 at 333 Fifth Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, as Morris MANASHAW, age 37; stationer, stationery store. He appeared on the census of 6 April 1930 at 467 51st Street, Brooklyn, New York, as Morris MANASHAW, age 45; installment collector. He appeared on the census of 2 April 1940 at 1369 53rd Street, Brooklyn, New York, as Morris MANASHAW, age 59; insurance agent.
