Sarah Leah Hirshovitz

     Sarah Leah Hirshovitz married Leib Gilmowski, son of Avraham Yitzhak Gilmowski. She was born on 17 October 1862 at Gorodishche, Novogrudok, Minsk. She was the daughter of Abram Girshovich and Estra Girshovich. She died on 23 September 1936 at Gainesville, Florida, at age 73. She was buried on 24 September 1936 at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Savannah, Georgia.
     She appeared on the census of 12 July 1874 at Gorodishche, Novogrudok, Minsk, as Sorah GIRSHOVICH, age 13. She immigrated on 8 August 1904 to Ellis Island, New York, as Sore GILMAR, age 42, aboard Noordam from Rotterdam; last residence Gorodysz; en route to husband Leib GILMAR, Blackshear, Georgia. She appeared on the census of 17 May 1910 at Blackshear, Georgia, as Sarah Lee GILMORE, age 48. She lived in 1915 at 221 West Perry, Savannah, Georgia, in Savannah city directory as Sara GILMORE; widow of L. GILMORE. She lived in 1922 at 115 West Hull, Savannah, Georgia, in Savannah city directory as Sarah L. GILMORE, same address as son Joseph GILMORE. She lived in 1923 at 326 Montgomery, Savannah, Georgia, in Savannah City Directory; same address as son Joseph. She appeared on the census of 11 April 1930 at 806 Brunel Street, Waycross, Georgia, as Gilmore MAZO, age 65. She appeared on the census of 1935 at Alachua, Florida, in 1935 Florida State Census; as S.L. GILMORE, age 72.
